Brief Description of Duties


The Assessment and Volunteer Coordinator for the College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) will coordinate the college’s assessment and volunteer programs, analyze their impact, and assess other impact data relevant to the outreach and community education work of CAUSES. The Coordinator works closely with and reports directly to the Administrative Specialist for Data Management and Assessment and will be an integral part of the Operations team within the college.  Responsibilities include involvement in all facets of the assessment process from inception through to implementing change, data research, data collection, compilation of data and data analysis for preparation of reports, presentations, speeches etc.  These responsibilities are in direct alignment with the college’s focus on the continuous improvement. In addition, the incumbent will serve as the point of contact for the volunteer database and aid in the development of an eminent volunteer program. The incumbent is expected to perform assigned duties with a high degree of independence, professionalism, initiative and efficiency, exercising good judgment and paying close attention to detail. The incumbent must be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing and must be familiar with statistical packaging tools such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS, and/or STATA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborates closely with the Administrative Specialist for Data Management and Assessment, Directors, Assistant Directors and staff of the Landgrant Centers and faculty members in the Academic Programs of CAUSES to recognize the unique assessment needs of each Center/Department.
2. Develops and disseminates qualitative and quantitative tools for data collection of Landgrant and Academic programs.
3. Codes and analyzes data, reports and interprets findings, formulates recommendations and devises reports based on collected qualitative and quantitative data to present to a diverse array of constituents.
4. Works closely with the Administrative Specialist for Data Management and Assessment in University wide assessment initiatives.
5. Assists in the development of a robust and mature assessment cycle for each Landgrant Center: Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), Center for Urban Agriculture and Gardening Education (CUAGE), Center for Nutrition, Diet, and Health (CNDH), and the Center for 4-H and Youth Development (4-H).
6. Coordinates the Volunteer program and database including data entry and volunteer planning.
7. Provides research assistance for CAUSES research, outreach, and community education projects as directed by the Administrative Specialist for Data Management and Assessment.
8. Prepares research results for inclusion in informational materials, speeches, presentations and workshops to local, regional, national and international audiences.
9. Serves as an informational source for research and education activities for the Academic and Landgrant programs of CAUSES for students, faculty, administrators and the community at large.
10. Interfaces with CAUSES program, operational, and academic staff as well as relevant UDC offices to ensure that work is conducted in a strategic, effective and efficient manner.
11. Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
 

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Statistics, or relevant field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. At least three years of related experience

Condition of Employment:  This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.   

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
