Salary Range: $26193.93-$28234.36

Brief Description of Duties

The incumbent will receive and respond to telephone inquiries, serve as the primary clerk responsible for preparing files, receives, responds and refers walk-in inquiries to appropriate staff member(s), responds to inquiries from public and internal constituents by way of in-person, telephone, email and/or written contacts. The Administrative Aide also assists with paperwork required for new hire orientation, distributes mail and directs public and internal constituents to appropriate offices, as requested, maintains a log of all visitors.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Required Competencies:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to communicate with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and public constituents.
  2. Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and creativity in implementing responsibilities.
  3. Working knowledge of business protocol for communication by email, telephone and memorandum.
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, students, organizations and the general public.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation. The determination of a "satisfactory background investigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia. The University may refuse to hire a finalist, rescind an offer of employment to a finalist or review and may terminate the employment of a current employee based on the results of a background investigation.
