Description

Under the supervision of the Project Director for the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies, the incumbent functions as a Project Coordinator in the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies Program. The DC Hospitality and Construction Academies are part of the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) division at the University of the District of Columbia Community College. This is a grant-funded initiative that prepares District residents for careers in the hospitality and construction sectors. The responsibilities of this position include the budgeting, planning, and assisting in the implementation of a multi-million dollar grant.

Brief Description of Duties

 

The incumbent will plan, coordinate and assist in the managing of career and technical education programs located at various workforce development sites in the city, assist in writing, selecting, editing and assembling course materials, respond to requests to provide summaries of data, records and/or progress reports on programs, research and provide continuous up-to-date information on changes to legislation as it relates to career and technical education and workforce development programs, confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, assess changes and other factors and develop outcome strategies for non-credit and informal/enrichment education programs. The Project Coordinator also assists in the development of program strategies, reviews and evaluates non-credit and informal education programs for quality performance and compliance with industry and government standards, evaluates instructor performance and the effectiveness of classes, training programs and provides recommendations for continued improvement, develops outcomes assessment strategies for non-credit education programs, coordinates and participates in career and technical education and workforce development outreach activities and career fairs,and works with Project Director to develop marketing materials

Condition of Employment:  Temporary employment is restricted to a one year appointment and employment may be ended at anytime with or without cause.

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
