Description


This position is responsible for enrollment data reporting and analysis, data integrity management and analysis, enrollment management system support, maintain and upgrade, and performance and efficiency management for the Enrollment Management (EM) unit. The position serves as the lead for operational data mining and functions manager and is required to work with multiple data resources from different repositories covering all aspects of the business units; and oversees forecasting, modeling and analysis of student data. This role will also be responsible for all projects designed to advance technology for student success; and procuring, supporting and delivering maintenance for IT equipment and system for Enrollment Management unit.
 
This position reports to the Director of Institutional Research and Assistant Provost for Enrollment Management.

Brief Description of Duties

 

Enrollment data reporting and analysis
  1. Develop and maintain data reports to respond to the University enrollment data requests from clients, internal and external, to the University. This includes but not limited to:
  2. Serve as the project manager and liaison to OSSE to meet SLED data requirements.
  3. Serve as IPEDS data key holders for Enrollment Management and Registrar Office. Work with IPEDS data coordinators to ensure timely report of data that are in compliance with federal regulation.
Data integrity management and analysis
  1. Serve as data steward for all student data from application, registration, financial aid, and student account modules.
  2. Develop and document the operational definition and technical definition of major student data elements reported.
  3. Serve in Data Standard Committee as data manager from reenrollment related functions.
  4. Establish, document, and conduct training on the policy and process to ensure the integrity of student data. 
Enrollment management system support, maintain and upgrade
  1. Based on the technical priorities established by EM directors, lead all aspect of student data management technology implementation, improvement, maintenance, and upgrade. Provide technical support and training to EM staff as needed.
  2. Work with IT to maintain and upgrade the system to ensure compliance of regulation and smooth load of system upgrades.
  3. Develop SQL scripts and configure system settings and rules in the student data related modules.
  4. Act as the divisional liaison to ISAS to drive technology and process improvements, automate tasks using technology to improve efficiency and services. 

Performance and efficiency management
  1. Analyze, improve and document business process to build student-staff-faculty/customer-centric system.
  2. Define and monitor institutional, divisional, and unit effectiveness indicators. Analyze, document and report performance metrics regularly.
  3. Use data to manage workload of the department, ensuring that department commitments are met on a consistent basis.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree with focus on IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience in a related area
  2. Five (5) years' experience in reporting, business analysis, or related area required.
  3. Three (3) years as data analyst or similar, applying knowledge of business process, logic, and data to answer questions;
  4. Three (3) years of experience creating relevant reporting systems/methods and extracting key intelligence from large data sets particularly in enrollment management—Financial Aid, Office of Registrar; Institutional Research; and,
  5. Experience at an institution of higher education preferred.
  6. Experience training end user or technical support staff to use and support Banner.
