The Student Activities Specialist reports directly to the Dean of Student Achievement at the University of the District of Columbia Community College. The key areas of responsibility include day-to-day operations of the Student Government Association (UDC-CC SGA), student programs and activities on campus. General oversight of all student on campus and activities/events, advising of the SGA, management of student clubs and organizations, and the equitable disbursement of funds to the various student organizations. Incumbent performs the following duties.

Brief Description of Duties
The incumbent will prepare and oversee the budget for the Student Activity Fee account and coordinate all activities of club, organizations at UDC-CC; serve as the Office of Student Achievement advisor to all clubs and organization, monitor all events, training workshops, and new club/organization requests; assist the Student Success Center staff with orientation, registration, and other services; meet with students, clubs, and organizations to plan activities; and plan and arrange social, cultural and recreational events and programs related to the general student body. The incumbent will also prepare written evaluations for all programs; make recommendations to student groups for improving and enhancing the effectiveness of their organizations and events; serve on University-wide committees such as open house, new student orientation, commencement and convocation; and provide monthly reports to the Dean of Student Achievement as associated with duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in student development, counseling, or any related field; three years of experience in student activities, programs or services, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties; must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends, and travel. Competent in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.

- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and advise on various campus activities and programs.
- Excellent writing and oral presentation skills to prepare reports, make recommendations, plan and advise on student activities.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a broad range of constituencies and stakeholders within the Community College and UDC as well as outside of the college and the university.
- Knowledge of the organization, mission, and policies of the University of the District of Columbia.
- Knowledge of appropriate interpersonal and counseling strategies.
- Excellent customer service.

Condition of Employment: This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.
Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
