Description
The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Division (WDLL) is a longstanding division of the University of the District of Columbia.  The incumbent functions as a Staff Assistant to the Dean of WDLL.  This unit includes the UDC Campus and all WDLL satellite sites.

Pay Plan, Series & Grade: AD-301-12

Salary Range: $31,110 - $35,881

Brief Description of Duties:

The Staff Assistant performs the following duties:
 
  1. Maintain the Dean’s schedule
  2. Keep the master calendar of events for the Division (including town hall meetings, orientations, student appreciation events, etc.)
  3. Manage WDLL Division meetings including room set up, technical issues, agenda preparation and parking for guests
  4. Manage a Purchase Card and Travel Card (SmartTrip) for the WDLL Division
  5. Manage email list serves for the WDLL Division, including the all staff, faculty and partner email databases
  6. Monitor and respond to the workforce@udc.edu email account
  7. Handle calls and walk ins
  8. Oversees all administrative processes for Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning
  9. Works closely with the Dean of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning to ensure the continuity of communication across the Division.
  10. Attends appropriate meetings and prepares and distributes written notes for the Dean
  11. Takes the initiative to assume additional responsibilities and duties which are necessary for the expansion of WDLL.
  12. Assists special activities and projects within the Workforce Development & Lifelong Learning Division.

Required Qualifications:
 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required. College preferred.
  2. Minimum of two years of administrative experiences required.

Condition of Employment:  This is a temporary appointment. Temporary employment may be ended at anytime with or without cause.

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.

Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation.  The determination of a "satisfactory background investigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia.  The University may refuse to hire a finalist, rescind an offer of employment to a finalist or review and may terminate the employment of a current employee based on the results of a background investigation.
