Brief Description of Duties

The Systems/Emerging Technologies Librarian will develop the library’s electronic resources collection to make it usable and accessible to all members of the School of Law community.  The Systems/Emerging Technologies Librarian will develop a plan of innovative, technology based services: electronic collection management that will emphasize accessibility and connectivity to new and existing electronic resources.  The Systems/Emerging Technologies Librarian will develop effective points of access for the electronic resources collection making information more usable to the member of the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
                                                                       
 

  1. Develop and implement a program to enhance use of electronic resources
  2. Identify new, effective technology and resources in critical areas of the library collections
  3. Provide technical support and training for library staff, faculty and students in technology use
  4. Maintain a current understanding of advances in design and technology
  5. Participate in library efforts to use new technology for instruction, research, clinic practice, and information dissemination.
  6. Manage library web pages, maintaining public interfaces for research databases and other web-based resources
  7. Participate in the liaison program and proactively support the faculty’s research and teaching interest.

 Required Qualifications
 

  • Master’s of Library Science or Educational Technology (or equivalent) degree
  • Technology experience in a university or law school library
  • J.D. degree preferred

Condition of Employment:  This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.   

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
