The Enrollment Coordinator is the primary support contact between the prospects, parents and external influencers and The University of the District of Columbia. This is a project management position which serves the ultimate purpose of interceding on all aspects of the enrollment process for prospects regarding admissions, Financial Aid, orientation and matriculation. It is also the lead customer service relations personnel for enrollment management.

Brief Description of Duties

  • Monitors and evaluates all aspects of the enrollment process. Troubleshoots application problems by partnering with admissions, Financial Aid processing staff to ensure applications are processed in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
  • Performs predictive analysis and indicators relative to the likelihood of prospects enrolling. Uses data and reports to guide, focus, and evaluate recruitment activities, and to adjust recruitment strategies as needed
  • Serves as the lead customer service relations personnel for enrollment management. Provides excellent customer service through direct counseling of prospects, educators, parents and visitors to the University.
  • Communicates and engages regularly with prospects, guidance counselors, teachers and parents through highlighting The University of the District of Columbia academic differentiators and student experience.
  • Works closely with student affairs personnel to ensure a smooth and positive transition from applicant stage to enrollment which impacts retention.
  • Builds relationships with prospects and external influencers to generate awareness of all activities toward yielding prospects.
  • Coordinates enrollment events for prospects on and off campus, and facilitate a strategic viral approach to recruitment of prospects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or Counseling
  • One (1) year experience as a teacher, counselor, admissions as a recruiter, financial aid counselor, or academic advisor.
  • One (1) year experience engaging a diverse population in a service providing capacity
  • Experience with technology, including but not limited to Microsoft office suite
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and coordinate efforts between critical units vital to the enrollment process with multiple demands while maintaining flexibility
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
