Description

The University of the District of Columbia Community College is seeking a dynamic, patron-centered individual with collaboration skills and experiences to function as the Program Coordinator to support the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning division.  Specifically, this position will involve planning and carrying out the successive steps in the work assignment in accordance with instructions, policies or accepted practices.

Brief Description of Duties

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning, the Program Coordinator assists in establishing courses and program offerings consistent with career and technical programs, assists in writing, selecting, editing and assembling course materials, in consultation with the Director of Workforce Development, responds to requests to provide summaries of data, records and/or progress reports on programs, researches and provides continuous up-to-date information on changes to legislation as it relates to career and technical education and workforce development programs, confers with management and conducts surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes and other factors and develops outcome strategies for non-credit and informal/enrichment education programs.  The Program Coordinator also assists in the development of program strategies, reviews and evaluates non-credit and informal education programs for quality performance and compliance with industry and government standards, evaluates instructor performance and the effectiveness of classes, training programs and provides recommendations for continued improvement, develops outcomes assessment strategies for non-credit education programs, coordinates and participates in career and technical education and workforce development outreach activities and career fairs, and works with Dean of Workforce Development to develop marketing materials.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; managerial and organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, ability to communicate with diverse cultures and skills in organizational development, strategic planning and public policy research and development.

Condition of Employment:  Temporary employment is restricted to a one year appointment and employment may be ended at anytime with or without cause.

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
