The University of the District of Columbia Community College is seeking a dynamic, patron-centered individual with collaboration skills and experiences to support the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, College Readiness and Community Outreach department Specifically, the incumbent will serve under the direct supervision of the CEO and will serve as a bridge between the two major Units (Academic Affairs and Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning) and manage dual enrollment and related community outreach functions on behalf of these components. The incumbent, reports directly to the CEO.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Director of College Readiness and Community Outreach provides leadership and direction for all programs related to and associated with College Readiness, Career Transition, high school transcript review and dual enrollment records review and management, creates and recommends policies and programs to expand K-12/Community College interactions, supports the CEO with a range of community outreach functions with a particular focus on the development of community service functions, attends conferences related to the community college, college readiness and career and technical education, assists in building partnerships with high schools and community based organizations in designing and implementing the infrastructure/systems needed to support a sustainable college and career readiness program for all D.C. students, develops detailed strategies in both Academic and Workforce related areas that include mid- and long-term objectives that are student-centered, competency based, assists in convening regular network meetings with all stakeholders, businesses and professional organizations where best practices are shared amongst the college staff and community members and data driven and manages the coordination of dual enrollment and articulation agreements.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of seven years of professional experience in higher education administration, master's degree, knowledge of barriers faced by at-risk, low income and first generation college students, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated experience and skills in workforce development and career and technical training.

Condition of Employment: This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.

Residency Preference: The Residency Preference Amendment Act of 1988, D.C. Law 7-203, created a system in which provides that any applicant for employment in the Career or Educational Services who is a bona fide resident of the District of Columbia may claim a residency reference at the time of application. An applicant selected for an appointment based on District residency will be required to submit no less than eight (8) proofs of bona fide District residency. Bona fide District residency must be maintained from the date of appointment to the position for seven (7) consecutive years. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the (7) year period will result in forfeiture of employment.
Drug-Free Workplace: Pursuant to the requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the individual selected to fill this position will, as a condition of employment, be required to notify his/her immediate supervisor, in writing, not later than five (5) days after conviction of any criminal drug statute occurring in the workplace.
Background Investigation: Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation. The determination of a "satisfactory background investigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia. The University may refuse to hire a finalist, rescind an offer of employment to a finalist or review and terminate the employment of a current employee based on the results of a background investigation.
