DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Director for the Center for Workforce Strategies (CWS) functions as Project Director for the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies Program. The DC Hospitality and Construction Academies are part of the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) division at the University of the District of Columbia Community College. This is a grant-funded initiative that prepares District residents for careers in the hospitality and construction sectors. The responsibilities of this position include the planning, preparation, instruction, and supervision of the day-to-day operation and management of a multi-million dollar grant. The Project Director reports directly to the Director of the Center of Workforce Strategies (CWS) in the WDLL

Brief Description of Duties
The Project Director will support the implementation of the TACT3 grant, manage, implement and supervise the multi-million dollar Department of Labor grant for the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Division, direct the vision and work of the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies Program and staff, work to build out the department staff be responsible for supervising and directing team to ensure grant stipulations and department goals are met, plan and organize meetings with stakeholders and sponsors (private and public entities) to discuss grant status, program execution and implementation, goals and objectives, outcomes, expenditures, and future implementation of the grants, identifies opportunities, trends, needs, merits and deficiency situations in the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies Program , participate in the formulation and implementation of overall strategy, policies, and objectives for the program in adherence with appropriate rules, policies, regulations, and laws of the University, the DC Government, and the Federal Government, coordinate resources, budgets, spending plans and staffing requirements associated with the grant, and assists with the recruitment and employment of highly competent professional staff. The Project Director also establishes and implements a detailed set of program goals, objectives and deliverables for the program, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders which are submitted to the Director of the CWS for approval, ensures grant performance data is collected in compliance with the Department of Labor requirement and creates customized reports to demonstrate evidence of program results/outcomes, provides for the dissemination of program results to national, regional, and local professional and lay audiences, maintains liaisons with appropriate local and federal government agencies, private industry, local businesses, etc., with interests in the DC Hospitality and Construction Academies Program , and encourages joint activities with other departments within WDLL, the community college, the University and outside agencies with an emphasis on coordinating plans, programs, and activities.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or technology-related field required; Master's degree preferred. At least three years of management experience, at least three years of experience in the construction and/or hospitality sectors, and at least five years of project or grant management experience required.
