Brief Description of Duties


Incumbent performs a wide variety of writing and writing-related duties for the School of Law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Works with faculty to write copy related to cases and clinic activities, scholarly writing and presentations, and other service-related work.
  • Works with Community Service Program, Internship and Summer Public Interest
    Fellowship Program coordinators to write copy and to improve student submissions.
  • Works with Public Outreach Coordinator, Alumni Director, Dean, Webmaster, faculty, and staff to conceptualize, write and post articles on events, news, human interest stories
  • Attends and reports on a wide variety of events at the School of Law.
  • Works to develop publications including alumni magazines, e-zines, e-newsletters, clinic highlights, brochures and admission material.
  • Works on grant writing with Director of Development, Dean, faculty and other staff.

Other Duties

  • Takes photographs at School of Law events
  • Assists with layout, formatting and desktop publishing of stories
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree; JD preferred
  • (4) Four years of writing experience

Condition of Employment:  This is a sponsored program appointment. The duration of this appointment is subject to grant fund availability.   

Collective Bargaining Unit (Non-Union): This position is not in the collective bargaining unit.
