Brief Description of
DutiesThe position serves as an Information Desk Receptionist & Scheduler in the University of the District of Columbia’s Student Center. The position is under the administrative direction of the Meeting & Events Manager to the Student Center.  Work is evaluated on efficiency, responsiveness, timeliness of assigned duties, as well as overall work ethics.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 

  1. Greets patrons and visitors in person in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  2. Provide documents that may need to be completed by visitors or clients.
  3. Document information in the computer programs.
  4. Schedules and maintains appointments through computerized scheduling program.
  5. Adheres to established Rules of Scheduling as determined by Meeting & Events Manager.
  6. Assist in providing administrative and clerical support for a variety of matters that encompasses an entire range of responsibilities and assistance to area managers.
  7. Assist managers in gathering and analyzing data in order to create and prepare routine reports.
  8. Perform duties that will assist with the responsibilities of the Meeting & Events Manager.
  9. Assist in serving as the first point of contact for internal and external students, faculty and constituents on behalf of the Meeting & Events Manager by receiving and responding to telephone inquiries and referring walk-in inquiries to appropriate offices.
  10. Assist with maintaining a log of all visitors to the Student Center.
  11. Maintain satisfactory, regular, and predictable attendance by reporting to work as scheduled and keeping unscheduled absences to a minimum.
  12. Ensure all communications reflect the standards and mission of the University.
  13. Assist in maintaining an electronic filing system of correspondence and documentation related to office business.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
 

  1. High School Diploma required.Associates degree preferred.
  2. At least 1-2 years of administrative support experience.
