Brief Description of Duties

 

Reporting directly to the Director of the Research Academy for Integrated Learning, this administrative faculty position is responsible for training and supporting faculty patrons in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting the unit head (Director) in support of online learning initiatives and programs offered by the academic units of the University of the District of Columbia.

Required Qualifications
 

  1. PH.D., Ed, D, or ABD from an accredited institution of higher education with a concentrations in instructional design, online learning, or a related field in teaching and learning.
  2. Minimum of five years of teaching experience at the college level with online teaching experience.
  3. Minimum of 3 years experience with educational administration.
  4. Demonstrated success working in or with a diverse academic environment.
  5. Minimum 3 years reaching experience.
  6. A thorough knowledge of teaching and learning scholarship and practice.
  7. Familiarity with Quality Matters is desired. Candidate should be experienced using Blackboard, Web 2.0 tools, and other relevant applications.
 
 
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
 
  1. Mastery of the creation/delivery of workshops and instructional learning experiences.
  2. Knowledge of teaching and learning scholarship and practice.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with different constituencies within and outside the university, and work collaboratively in team settings.
  4. Proven record of teaching with varied instructional methodologies, curriculum and program development, administration of education programs, program and learning outcomes assessments and grants development.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate with different constituencies within and outside the university, and work collaboratively in team settings.
