Brief Description of Duties


The incumbent functions as Project Assistant in the Office of TRIO and College Preparatory Programs for the Educational Talent Search Program in the Division of Student Development and Success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains database to track student progress and vital information as required by the Department of Education.
  • Maintains individual student records including grades, attendance, and SAT/ACT scores.
  • Provides assistance to students in completing financial aid applications and college applications.
  • Participates in training sessions for staff and students.
  • Maintains office supplies and keeps track of inventory.
  • Tracks former students.
  • Assists teaching staff in classroom and in classroom preparation.
  • Plans and supervises extra-curricular activities that are outside of the scope of the academic program.
  • Works closely with the program coordinator, education counselor and other staff to facilitate student learning and activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus two years of college required.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of work experience, preferably in an academic setting
  • Experience with budgeting preferred
  • Experience with Banner and desired
  • Familiarity with TRIO Programs desired
  • Experience with a teen population
