Brief Description of Duties
Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Admission Counselor - Enrollment Marketing is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy with targeted messaging aimed at prospective students throughout the enrollment funnel. The Admission Counselor - Enrollment Marketing will ensure that all communications are accurate, timely, cost-effective, and aligned with the University of the District of Columbia’s brand and in alignment with its strategic goals and mission. This position will involve managing a CRM system (Salesforce/Salesforce Marketing Cloud), enrollment marketing platforms, and social media outlets for outreach and ensuring that individual messages are relevant and up-to-date. The Admission Counselor - Enrollment Marketing will also analyze data reports to assess the effectiveness of communication tactics and overall enrollment marketing plans.
Collaborating closely with the admission team, the Admission Counselor - Enrollment Marketing will focus on strategic outreach via email, text, print, and phone campaigns, developed in partnership with the University's recruitment staff, academic departments, enrollment navigators, and marketing and communications teams.
The Admission Counselor - Enrollment Marketing will be responsible for coordinating targeted communication activities with various constituencies, including prospects, applicants, parents, secondary schools, community agencies, and other relevant markets. The role may also involve participation in recruitment events, including evenings and weekends, to promote the University, provide detailed information on academic programs, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life.
This position requires a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and data-driven decision-maker who can help drive the University’s enrollment goals while maintaining a strong brand presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and manage communication campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Mogli text platform throughout the enrollment funnel to ensure appropriate and timely information is provided to students.
- Write, edit, and update email and text communications to increase conversion rates throughout the enrollment funnel.
- Develop communications in various formats including, but not limited to, email, letters, print publications, postcards, and texts.
- Collaborate with marketing, academic colleges/schools, and student support services to develop engaging communication campaigns to promote awareness of support services and academic programs positioned for growth.
- Develop Salesforce student portal content, generate queries for proper reporting outcomes, and curate forms within CRM using Form Assembly.
- Assist the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission in planning and promoting admission events.
- Develop a comprehensive social media calendar to increase brand awareness and provide accurate and time sensitive information to effectively build community within a digital space.
- Collaborate with the Senior Admission Leadership Team to develop and enhance lead generation and nurture strategies.
- Coordinate with external enrollment marketing partners and vendors to coordinate digital advertising and UDC’s undergraduate admission presence in various platforms.
- Write and/or edit content for publications and admission promotional materials for mass print production and digital outreach.
- Evaluate current trends and student expectations with regard to content and delivery methods.
- Utilize graphic design platforms such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite to generate branded materials for print and digital outlets.
- Hire, train, and supervise graphic design student workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably in higher education or a related field.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, social media, and Canva.
- Ability to analyze data and develop strategic communication plans.

Collective Bargaining Unit (Union): This position is in the collective bargaining unit represented by AFSCME local 2087 and you may be required to pay an agency service fee through direct payroll deduction.

Residency Preference: A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application for the position, may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points. If selected, the person shall be required to present no less than 8 proofs of bona fide District residency on or before the effective date of the appointment and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment. Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7-year period will result in forfeiture of employment.
