Brief Description of Duties 

The University of the District of Columbia is seeking a Grant Coordinator to work on federally funded grant project. Our funded project focus on conducting exciting research, education, and outreach activities. This position provides opportunities to work in exciting and high impact research and education fields with faculty leaders while creating a strong and long-term societal impact. Grant coordinator position is for one year and can be renewed for multiple years subjected to availability of funds and incumbent performance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create grant progress reports in coordination with Center Director and external evaluator;
  • Maintain accurate records and details of grant spending in line with the spending plan for the center and in accordance with university regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Serve as the principal administrative contact and liaison for assigned grants programs and supports Principal Investigators with assigned administrative tasks;
  • Prepare, support and disseminate communication-related center activities and organize meetings;
  • Manage, process, audit, and oversee timely compensation for faculty, staff and students;
  • Coordinate and ensure efficient and accurate transactions with other UDC and external entities such as UDC’s SEAS Research Center, Office of Sponsored Programs, student admissions, and other university offices;
  • Coordinate and organize outreach activities, meetings, internal and external workshops and events in coordination with the Center Director;
  • Assist with maintaining SEAS website, and social media accounts;
  • Supervises assigned students and staff and;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management and/or the management of administrative duties.
  • Knowledge of MS office tools and website maintenance.
  • Excellent management skills and the ability to work with others amicably.
  • Strong understanding of the University’s finance systems, preferred.
